About this path

Systemic life coaching and personal development

No one lives on their own. What blocks you is therefore rarely a single problem, but a pattern of relationships, roles and expectations. We look at the whole picture — and find the place where one small step moves a lot.

I'm Raphael Öttinger — a Psychological Advisor (Euro-FH) specializing in couples and family coaching, trained in systemic counselling, and working toward persolog® certification. Before coaching I worked as a teacher, social worker and prison officer; those years taught me to meet people without judgment.

In practice, that means 1:1 sessions where we slow down and sort things out: work, relationships, health, meaning, responsibility. I won't hand you my answers. Through careful listening and well-chosen questions, I help you see your situation more clearly and find solutions you develop yourself — ones you can stand behind and apply straight away.

People come to me with many different questions: times of transition — a new job, a move, a new phase of life — a relationship that feels stuck, a career decision, a season of overwhelm, or simply the desire for personal development. Whatever brings you here, a session is a calm, confidential space — structured enough to move forward, open enough to follow what really matters.

There are two ways we can work together. The most common is a series of 4–10 sessions, where we follow your questions over time and let the work deepen step by step. Or, if you have one specific topic you want to untangle, an in-depth single session of 2–3 hours is often enough to gain real clarity and a concrete way forward.

A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It's simply a chance to meet, describe where you are, and find out whether working together feels right. If it does, we shape the journey from there — remote, or in person in Skien and the surrounding area. And if you prefer, we can also meet at a place of your choice on request.

What it looks like

  • Typical topics: times of transition, personal development, work etc.
  • Series of 4–10 sessions
  • In-depth 2–3 h single session
  • Remote or in person — in Skien and the surrounding area, or at a place of your choice on request (additional costs may apply)

What coaching and counselling is for

Possible areas of focus:

01

Discovering your strengths

Genius · Personality

What makes you unique often feels self-evident to you. We make it visible and usable.

  • When are you completely in your element?
  • What gives you energy, and what takes it away?
02

Inner clarity

Inner drivers · Inner team · Personal development

Understand what drives you and what holds you back, and gain more inner freedom.

  • Which inner voice shapes your actions — and does it do you good?
  • Where do you keep reacting the same way, even though you want something different?
03

Turning points and calling

Transitions · Calling and career

When something changes, space opens for something new. Together we find your next right step.

  • What is ending right now, and what wants to begin?
  • Does your path still fit the person you have become?
04

Leadership and leading

Responsibility · Self-leadership · Decisions

Those who lead others need a space of their own to think, sort and refuel.

  • What do you want to stand for as a leader?
  • Who looks after you when you are there for everyone else?
05

Performance and the pressure to perform

Performance pressure · performance anxiety · rest

Performance pressure has become a daily companion — at work, at home, in training, in leisure. In coaching we ask who the pressure actually belongs to: where it came from, who was allowed to set the goal — and what is left of you when the goal is put down.

  • Who are you when you are not performing?
  • What happens if enough is allowed to be enough?

Not only when things catch fire

Many people think coaching is for times when nothing works anymore. In fact it is often most valuable for the people for whom a great deal is going on: those who lead, decide and carry responsibility — for a team, a business, a family or a community.

Anyone who constantly has to be clear for others needs a space of their own where they can think out loud, sort things and refuel. Someone across from you who does not depend on your decisions — and for that very reason can look at things honestly with you.

Those who give others support deserve a place to refuel themselves.

Start with a free 20-minute call — relaxed, without obligation. And cost should never keep you from reaching out: being stuck is usually far more expensive than the coaching itself, and for those on a low income special arrangements are possible. Just ask.
